Kodomon Karate-Do has been providing traditional Okinawan Karate-Do and Self defence training in the Redlands for over 25 years since 1997.

Chief Instructor Sensei Glenn Irvine studied under 8th Dan Japanese  Master Sensei Sadaharu Fujimoto, and 7th Dan Former Police PTI Sensei Graham Keleher for over 20 years.  He began teaching in the Redlands in 1997 as a 3rd Dan Branch Instructor after teaching at Wishart for 10 years.

Kodomon Karate-Do provides a traditional Okinawan style of Karate as taught by Fujimoto Sensei, known as Itosu-Kei Shuri-te Karate. Fujimoto Sensei was the Japanese National Karate Coach in the 80's and is famous for his Tameshiwari (breaking) techniques . The style has core principles around efficiency and "No Loss", and  has great depths in Kata (Form) instruction as well as the applicable Bunkai (Analysis & Application) of those Kata.

There is a progressive program of Kumite (Sparring)  and a structured self defence element in each grade of the curriculum.

Traditional Karate is low impact and the training can be enjoyed right throughout your life from the age of 13 to 80. Many Okinawan Masters still train in their 80's and are active, fit and strong.

Come and explore this Martial Art and its benefits for your body, mind and spirit. It has transformed many lives for the better.
