ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

KODOMON
KARATE-DO

Okinawan Traditional Karate

Kodomon Karate-Do was established in the Redlands in 1997, and for over 25 years has brought traditional Okinawan Karate-Do and Australia's leading Self Defence programs to this community. With the source of Sensei Irvine's Curriculum coming from one of Japan's foremost teachers of Karate-Do, Sadaharu Fujimoto 8th Dan, former Japanese National Coach, and Paul Cale who founded Kinetic Fighting from the Australian Special Forces Close Combat methodology, the pedigree of the training at Kodomon Martial Arts is outstanding.

Students from Kodomon have represented Australia in Sports Karate (AKF), toured Japan and Okinawa on Training pilgrimages, and become accredited Kinetic Fighting Operators and Supervisors.  All instructors at the Dojo have Blue cards and National Coaching Accreditations (NCAS), and Sensei Irvine, as the AKF State Coaching Director developed Queensland's Karate Coaches across the state for over 10 years.
